Welcome!

The Tools and Workflows Special Interest Group (SIG) of the American Society for Indexing is a networking and educational forum for indexers interested in tools and workflows, including technology and processes, for both indexing and the business of indexing. Areas of interest include (but are not limited to) macros, regular expressions, software, hardware, efficiency, productivity, and ergonomic solutions. We meet quarterly and offer (mainly) programmed events, including short presentations and workshops.

Our goals

  • Serve as a forum for networking, discussion, and education related to the SIG’s focus
  • Gather, organize, and archive tool- and workflow-related information and make it available to SIG members in an accessible format
  • Workshop and test new ideas

How to join us

The SIG is open to any member of ASI and its affiliated indexing societies. A yearly membership is $12. Sign up through the ASI Store (select Tools and Workflows SIG).
